Who we are

APLM is a network of individuals and congregations committed to the ongoing renewal of worship for the sake of Christ’s mission in the world. We hold that the liturgy orients the worshipping assembly for witness and service in daily life, for engaging critical issues and events from the perspective of Christian worship.

This mission invites worshippers to continue in the apostles' teaching and the breaking of the bread; to resist evil; to proclaim the Good News; to seek and serve Christ in all persons; to strive for justice and peace; to respect the dignity of every human being; and to protect and restore the beauty of God’s creation. This is no tepid program for the lukewarm, but rather a challenging and bold commitment to let our worship come to life in the complex world we inhabit.

APLM counts lay people, deacons, diocesan and synodical worship leaders, priests, liturgy professors, members of religious orders, scholars, activists, bishops, and pastors among its members from Anglican, Episcopal, and ELCIC and ELCA Lutherans in Canada and the United States.
